VerifAI is operated by Trillion Labs ("we", "us", "our"). We build tools that help knowledge workers verify AI-generated citations. You can reach us at hello@verifai.app.
VerifAI is a Chrome extension that monitors AI chat responses on ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity. When the AI cites a source, VerifAI fetches that source and uses AI to compare the AI's claim against what the source actually says. It returns one of four verdicts: Supported, Contradicted, Partially Supported, or Unverifiable.
When you sign in, we receive your Google account email address and a unique user ID via Google OAuth. We use this to identify your account and apply your usage quota. We do not receive your Google password or access to your Gmail, Drive, or any other Google service.
When a citation is verified, the following is sent to our server:
We do not collect the content of your prompts, your full chat history, any text you typed, or the document you are working on. Only citation-specific data is transmitted.
We record the number of verifications you perform each day to enforce the free tier limit (20 per day). This count is stored server-side and reset after 48 hours.
If you submit your email on our landing page, it is stored by Formspree (our form provider) and used only to notify you when VerifAI launches or when your access tier changes. We do not sell or share this email with any third party.
Verification results are cached locally in your browser's chrome.storage.local for 24 hours to avoid redundant API calls. This data never leaves your device and is cleared automatically. You can clear it manually from the extension's Settings page.
We do not use your data for advertising, behavioral profiling, or sale to third parties.
Citation text and source excerpts are sent to Google's Gemini API for AI-powered fact-checking. Google processes this data under its Gemini API Terms of Service. API inputs may be used by Google to improve their models unless you opt out via Google's API settings.
To extract readable text from cited URLs, we use the Jina Reader API (r.jina.ai). Only the cited URL is sent — no user identity or document content. Jina's privacy policy applies to this processing.
Our backend API runs on Cloudflare Workers. All data in transit passes through Cloudflare's infrastructure. Cloudflare may process request metadata (IP address, timestamps) as part of normal network operations. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
Sign-in is handled via Google OAuth through the Chrome Identity API. We receive only the email and user ID from your Google account. See Google's Privacy Policy.
Waitlist email submissions on our landing page are processed by Formspree. See Formspree's Privacy Policy.
If you subscribe to VerifAI Pro, billing and subscription management is handled by Polar. See Polar's Privacy Policy.
All data in transit between the extension and our servers is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS. Our Cloudflare Worker infrastructure does not persist citation content — it processes requests in memory and discards them. API keys and secrets are stored as Cloudflare encrypted secrets, never in code.
You may request deletion of your account data at any time by emailing hello@verifai.app. We will process deletion requests within 30 days. For EU/EEA residents, you also have the right to access, correct, and port your data under GDPR.
VerifAI is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be announced via the Chrome Web Store listing update notes and, where applicable, by email to registered users. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance.
